Stippling

Stippling refers to a type of random stitching. Below is a photo of a sample of machine quilting . The stippling stitch is at the bottom of this piece.

The stitching toward the center of the photo also appears to be random, however the stitches are a little different. These stitching lines do not cross over each other. I refer to this stitching as meandering.
