Reproduction fabric
Reproduction fabric has become very popular among quilters. Instead of tracking down antique fabric, quilters can purchase new reproduction fabrics to give their quilt that "antique" look.
Below you can view a feedsack from the mid 1900's. Many of the feed companies printed designs on their bags to entice customers into buying their product. Feedsacks were often recycled in the post-depression years. Women used the empty feed bags for clothing, tablecloths, curtains, bedspreads, etc. Today there are very few authentic feedsacks available.
The reproduction fabric below is not the same print as the original, however the "feel" of this time period is apparent.
