This quilt was going to be an all white and cream colored quilt but I changed my mind at the last minute and added the pink and flowered fabric. The baskets in this quilt are simple baskets "jazzed-up" with floral and striped fabric.
This quilt was also an experiment in hand and machine quilting. I used many different basting and quilting methods while working on this piece. The quilt was basted on a quilting frame using hand basting stitches, safety pins and the basting gun. Some of the quilt was hand quilted and some was machine quilted. I use this quilt in my classes to point out the differences. Below is a close-up of the back of the quilt. (Sorry that the quilting is hard to see - I'm still working on my photography and hand quilting skills!)
