Creating and Applying Binding to the Quilt
Supply List
The following materials are needed to complete the practice mini-quilt with binding. Please feel free to use scraps for the project. The exact sizes of the cut pieces are in parentheses.
Fabric (100% 44/45 inches cotton fabric)
1/8 yard for binding
(strip will measure 2 1/4 inches x 44/45 incheswhen cut)
1/4 yard for quilt top/back
(top will measure 6 inches x 9 inches)
(back will measure 7 inches x 10 inches)
1/4 yard of batting
(batting will measure 7 inches x 10 inches)
Cutting Supplies
rotary cutting supplies or fabric scissors
(rotary cutter, mat and ruler)
Marking Tools
chalk or pencil
Sewing Supplies
thread
needle
pins
nickle-plated safety pins
Iron and Ironing Board
