Creating and Applying Binding to the Quilt
Lessons
The lessons in this tutorial are listed below along with their goals and objectives.
You have the option of viewing an individual lesson or all of them. Since there are no time limits, stay at each page as long as you like. Remember copying and pasting is the easiest way to print out the lessons.
1. Definitions - Students will learn about the different types of binding.
2. Cutting - Students will be given instructions for preparing their fabric and cutting strips of binding.
3. Pressing - Students will learn about pressing their binding. (Slideshow)
4. Sewing - Students will learn how to apply the binding to the quilt. (Slideshow)
5. Connecting- Students will learn the proper way to sew together the ends of the binding. (Slideshow)
6. Finishing - Students will learn how to turn the binding to the back of the quilt and stitch it in place. (Slideshow)
