Question: What is the bias?

Question: Why do you have to cut the bias at a 45 degree angle?

Answer: Using a 45 degree angle cut allows you to distribute the bulk of the fabric in the seam.  The finished seam looks "smoother". 
 
 

Question: Where can I find information about buying a good sewing machine?  Mine is not working well and I have been unable to complete the project.

Answer: Buying a sewing machine is like buying a new car.  There are many makes and models to choose from.  Before purchasing a machine, make a list of the features you would like to have then comparison shop.

Question: I'm having some problems with my practice piece.  I 'm having a hard time explaining my problem.  Is there anyway that I could send you a photo of my piece?

Answer: Sending a photo as an email attachment is a good idea.  If you know how to do this; great!  If not, I have listed two sites that may be helpful:
